TAV HOUSTON TOTS

TAV Tots is all about the FUN-damentals! Tots is designed for young athletes, typically five to 9 years old, who are interested in learning volleyball and have little to no experience. This program is 10 sessions (practices) lasting 10 weeks, one practice per week for 1 hour. Courts will have one coach for every six players. Our Tots program will introduce all fundamental volleyball skills in a positive and engaging environment. Much of the instruction will revolve around developing overall gross motor skills utilized for most sports and general coordination. Please note that in many of our drills, the kids will develop hand eye coordination, throwing and catching, running relay races or a variety of stations that may not include a volleyball.

***Once registration is complete, players will be assigned to courts based on age or skill level.

TAV HOUSton developmental

TAV Developmental is for young or developing athletes between the ages of 9 to 15 years old with some experience playing volleyball. In order to adequately address the needs of each group, players will be divided first by age (#1: 9-12yrs old & #2: 13-15yrs old) then by skill level. While this is still a fun environment, there will be more of an emphasis on teaching different aspects of the game. Players will learn and develop specific individual volleyball skills (serving, passing, setting, hitting, etc.), as well as learning different aspects of playing the game of volleyball within a team setting. Towards the latter half of the 10-week program, coaches will devote significant time to scrimmaging. Athletes will practice once per week for 90min on Sundays only. We will staff one coach for every eight players.

TAV Houston Club Prep Program

Club Prep I & Club Prep II is perfect for players that have a strong interest in volleyball and are preparing for tryouts at school or for club. Players should have prior experience playing volleyball to register for this program. The goal of Club Prep is for participants to develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to prepare them for a tryout process and to better prepare them for the following season. Practices will be engaging, challenging, and goal-oriented but in a fun environment; each practice session is 2hrs.   The season runs parallel with the club season in order to give players and parents an idea of how the club volleyball season is without the travel and tournament commitments. Towards the latter half of the 10-week program, coaches will devote significant time to scrimmaging in order to take learned skills and perform them in a competitive setting. Please note: the difference between Club Prep I & Club Prep II is simply the number of practice days the participant is able to commit; Club Prep I practices 1 day a week while Club Prep II practices 2 days a week.
